'Kill' Symbian, Nokia boss reap Criticism

Stephen Elop

Jakarta - Nokia is experiencing a decline in business performance quite dramatically, in which they rule as king of cell phones for 14 years reportedly ended. The former executives were criticized spicy Nokia Nokia is now the boss, Stephen Elop.

Lee Williams is a former Senior Vice President in charge of Nokia Symbian OS development. According to Williams, Nokia is now losing revenue and market share of talented executives in high speed.

CEO Stephen Elop judged to have no long-term vision. "Elop has no roadmap. There is no vision for this company. Before Elop, Nokia will not give up its leadership position and its role in the market, and would always talk about the future," he said.

Elop's decision to get rid of Symbian regarded as a bad idea. Because, Symbian has long been the mainstay of Nokia and still be a top smartphone platform. Nokia should keep Symbian.

"Symbian is Nokia. This is the Nokia brand, we knew we could count on him to trigger a sale," said Williams, who quoted from InformationWeek, Friday (27/04/2012).

Adopting Windows Phone calls were bad ideas. He believes Nokia's decision to rely entirely on the Windows Phone smart phone market is wrong.

"The product will have some success in the market, but not in the scale or level needed," he added. According to him, competition in the mobile market is very tough and Nokia may not have much time.
