BlackBerry Z10 CEO Unimpressed With Apple's iPhone

CEO of BlackBerry Thorsten Heins is not threatened by Apple's iPhone. With the wireless company releasing their latest device named BlackBerry Z10 tomorrow and eventually the Q10, Heins seems confident when up against the iPhone series. Heins criticized iPhone's user interface saying the company has kept the same homescreen for years while other companies have advanced using tiles or widgets which does away with opening applications to acquire information. With these components, a user has the ability to access the data they need with a quick glance to their homes screens while Apple iPhones still uses icons requiring a user to open up applications to obtain material. BlackBerry's Z10 comes equipped with a modern operating system along with a touch-screen keyboard.

Although the BlackBerry Z10 is available for purchase in the U.S. tomorrow, the keyboard version called Q10 won't be out until a few months from now which some BlackBerry fans prefer. The company hopes to regain a good spot in the market with their two new versions but the delay could hurt sales which is partly due to U.S. carriers. Heins states, "It's our job to deliver the right software package and the right software quality to the carriers. Then its is on the carriers to decide how intense they want their testing cycle to be and that really can range from a few weeks to three months." BlackBerry sales have been looking up after the unveiling of the devices in other countries a few months back giving Heins hope for the U.S. release.
